PROJECT PARTS LIST (Local utility and/or local business contribution)

Listed below are some additional items that will need to be purchased in order to completely install a SkyStream 3.7 turbine.  All the wire and conduit prices will vary depending on how far it is from your turbine to the school connection.  These items will hopefully be donated by local businesses or utilities.  Note:  You will not need ALL of the items listed below.  Items will be dependent upon the choice of a 240V or 120V connection.

Additional Items for Turbine and Tower
Qty. Material Cost
2 Copper Grounding Rods (3/4") $30 each
1 Tower base fused disconnect box $125
1 School disconnect box $125
3 AWG 10 turbine electrical wire (80ft) $70
300ft 120V Turbine Wire (Nacelle to tower disconnect) $84
300ft 240V Turbine Wire (Nacelle to tower disconnect) $84
Varies Steel Electrical conduit (Western Extralite) $190 per 100ft length
Varies PVC Schedule 40 Electrical conduit $18 per 100ft length
Varies Steel exterior grade electrical conduit Varies
Varies Turbine interconnection electrical wire (from tower disconnect to school) * Varies

*See Wiring Prices table below.

Below is a table listing approximate wire prices.  The prices will vary depending on how far it is from the turbine to the school.  The price also changes when using 240V versus 120V.  The price does reflect the use of a contractor and a 30% markup.

Wire Prices (installed)
Voltage Lengths Total Cost
120V 50ft to 500ft $14 - $1000
240V 50ft to 1000ft $20 - $3000

TURBINE COSTS (School plus green tag contribution)

Southwest WindPower prefers to sell the turbine and tower together, but if you choose a 70' guyed tower (the most economical option) it makes more sense to purchase the turbine and the guy-tower kit from SWWP, and the pipe for the tower locally, minimizing shippng costs.

Turbine Cost Estimates
Retail Cost** $6000.00 (estimate)
Non-profit, Schools Discounted Cost $4125.00
